It’s Patra Frame time again folks! Today I want to share
Patra’s presentation of what she calls your Value Proposition.
I know it sounds a bit jargony, but the reality is that
getting this right will equip you to present your next employer with such a
compelling and attractive proposition that they can’t wait to have you on
board.
In essence, it’s just really simple marketing. It’s the
process of turning your proposition from simply ‘this is what I can do’ into ‘I
understand what you need and this is why I can deliver it for you’.
Of course you cannot simply have one value proposition. You
need to develop a distinct proposition for each and every job application. And
that means rolling up your sleeves and doing your homework for each one. But
after a while, doing things this way will become second nature.
It’s more proof of the folly of thinking that the more
resumes and applications you send out, the better your chances of success.
Success in today’s job market isn’t a lottery. The winners are the ones who can
best articulate why they are the best candidate for the job. And Patra’s
straightforward three point plan will help you do just that.
Thanks Neil. Couldn't hear the video as I don't have speakers. I think the bottom line is know your facts about the company when applying for a job and you will be first on the list!
