If you’re job-hunting, or even in a job right now and
looking to develop your career faster, you will I am sure already be a member
of Linkedin. And you will appreciate (or should) that a large and vibrant
network of Linkedin contacts opens up many more opportunities for you.
But this can be a slow and difficult process. As you
probably know, Linkedin makes a big fuss about not sending invitations to
people you don’t know. Just inviting connections from people you do not already
know in the real world, is likely to yield more rejections than acceptances.
And once you collect these, Linkedin punishes you and your status drops like a
stone.
So how do you get connected with the people on Linkedin that
you don’t know but should?
Wouldn’t it be great if every day, you had a whole pile of
invitations from valuable and relevant people for your network on Linkedin that
sent you invitations to connect? You bet!
Not too many people know about this, but there is a way you
can do this for free. It’s so fast and easy that I just had to share it with
you.
There’s a website called Toplinked.com
that allows you to do exactly this. Once you go to the Toplinked site and click
on Top Supporters, you’ll find a list of people who have paid Toplinked to
promote their Linkedin page and are open to connecting with you. Best of all
you don’t have to pay anything to connect with these people. The reason they do
this is simple – it’s so that their Linkedin network becomes a more valuable
tool for them – but it will also do the same for you.
Once you click on a Top Supporter’s name, you’ll be taken
straight to their Linkedin profile and you can decide whether or not they are a
relevant and useful person to have in your network. Just adding 20 or so of
these people can grow your network exponentially as the fact that they are so
well connected, will open up many more possible connections for you with
hundreds or even thousands of other people.
If you choose to
join Toplinked’s $49.95 a year service, you will probably receive
hundreds of connection requests a week! Because these people are inviting you
to connect you are not breaking Linkedin’s ‘Only connect with people you know’
rule and so you are protecting your Linkedin status too.
Whether you choose to just try the free links or dive in and
opt for the paid service is up to you, but I do urge you to check it out now.
I should point out that I am in no way affiliated with Toplinked
and have received absolutely no incentive to promote their site. I just thought
you should know this!
